Worn out pair of shoes
Bud Elkin © 2015
My baby went and left me.
sHe took everything I had.
You come home every night
Picking fights and making me mad.
Well; maybe we have our, ups and downs,
But why did you up and leave,
You won’t quit your messing round,
Do you think I am that naive?
The only thing she left me,
Was these worn out pair of shoes.
Maybe we should give it another chance,
And work our problems out.
What good do you think, that will do
if you keep on going out?
Well, I promise I’ll try and change,
You know you won’t do that.
So let’s quit foolin ourselves,
if I want you I have to share.
{ CHORUS}
The only thing he left me,
Was these worn out pair of shoes.

These Old Blues

It started out as an innocent date; with little secrets, and a breakfast plate.
And then the real love began to show, we got married to let our love grow.
But something happened to make these old blues come again. Come again.
Weeks and months went and passed us by.
Our love was growing, and so was I.
Maybe there's something that I may have missed.
your eyes told the story when we kissed.
But something happened to make these old blues come again. Come again.
I think I got these old blues again.
these old blues have come and gone again.
He saw the clouds hover over our town.
Now he ain't no longer around.
Something happened to make these old blues come again. Come again.
Something happened to make these old blues come again. Come again.

I sit on a train I bought a ticket for. Not too many times had I paid my way.
I’ve jumped those rails many times. these old blues are makin me want to stay.
in Tuscaloosa Alabama town;;;;;; that’s where I want to play.
[bridge]
I heard it’s not what I think it is, but I know, it’s what I want it to be.
When I get there I want to dash away. Go for the nearest park to play.
My guitar and harmonica is all I need to make my way.
in Tuscaloosa Alabama town;;;;;; that’s where I want to play.
If I can get a crowd to come and stay, put down my hat so I can pay my way.
make someone smile and sing with me, make them happy as I play.
in Tuscaloosa Alabama town;;;;;; that’s where I want to play.

Memphis

My baby went to Memphis. to start a new job.
I stayed home to hold down the fort, before it’s gone.
Things are tryin to get us down, but we won’t let it, we’re gonna hold on.
Yea we’re gonna hold on.
Memphis is far, but my baby is near.
I can hear her voice, whisper in my ear.
She’s Tellin me to hold on, to all…. that we got.
All that we got.
They say down in Memphis, there are lots of things to do.
Any night you can go, hear bands playin the blues
What a life to have? What a life to live? It’s For me.
Yeah for me.

Got the blues

I’ve got the blues, that can only be blues. Uh huh
Well I don’t complain only when it rains.
I complain, but this time. Not to you. Uh Huh
[bridge]
If you had my blues it would be heavenly news. Uh huh
[verse]
I know what is wrong, and what caused the blues. Uh huh
Well, It wasn’t you, although it should be true
But this time. it’s not you. Uh huh
Most times it is. But this time. it’s not you.
[lead]
[verse]
I’ve got the blues, that can only be blues. Uh huh
I did the deed that caused me the shame
And you know, it’s me, and not you.

Slow Blues

I’ve got the slow blues. Been with me for awhile.
I’ve got the slow blues. And it ain’t my style.
Something caused them to come on me,
But I’m not sure, what it could be.
Maybe it’s depression, that’s got hold of me.
Maybe too many nights, out rambling free.
I’ve got the slow blues. And it ain’t my style.
Well, Something ‘s got hold of me.
I’ve got the slow blues creepin up on me.
Been with me for a while. Got to get free.
I’ve got the slow blues.
And it ain’t my style.
Oh I Gotta get myself set free.

Blues Baby

[chorus]
Blues baby won't you come along, we're taking a trip back home.
Down south where you were born, and have the freedom to roam.
[verse]
We've traveled around this big country of ours
playing the blues in clubs and bars
The crowds all loved us and we made some friends
But now it's time to go back home again.
Blues baby, Blues baby won't you come home with me?
Don't you think we need some time at home
I love the road but not alone
The crowds all loved us and we made some friends
And I don't want to go back home again.
Blues baby, won't you stay on the road
with me?

Don't Cry
(c)copyright Bud Elkin
Your face, can't conceal.
The hurt you hide in your heart.
Things you know, that you know
Will certainly tear you apart.
[chorus]
Don't Cry; all alone
I'll be here beside you
Don't Cry; all alone
Nobody has to know
Your cry, hides away
Somewhere my search can't detect
If you help I might find
more than you might expect

Satisfy You
©copyright bud elkin 2015
[INTRO]
[VERSE]
I tell you that you’re pretty, and open your door.
always compliment you, you come back for more.
All I want to do is satisfy you
I buy you everything you could want and more.
You never seem to mind your new decor.
All I want to do is satisfy you
[CHORUS]
I take you to dances, and get out on the floor.
We do the twirly twirly, stomp our feet on the floor.
I swing you all around, till I can’t stand no more.
And then we go back for more.
[VERSE]
I know you're gettin anxious for something new.
Think of a dance where I give you the queue.
All I want to do is satisfy you
I want to satisfy you
You’re a shooting star in the moonlit sky.
Everybody watches as you jump and fly.
All I want to do is satisfy you
I want to satisfy you
[CHORUS]
I take you to dances, and get out on the floor.
We do the twirly twirly, and stomp our feet on the floor.
I swing you all around, till I can’t stand up no more.
And then we go back for more.
[BRIDGE]
All I want to do is satisfy you
All I want to do is satisfy you
[VERSE lead]
I take you out to eat at a Sushi bar.
Seems to be your favorite, and it’s not that far.
All I want to do is satisfy you
You never get tired of me doting on you.
I know what you like, and you know it’s true.
All I want to do is satisfy you
I want to satisfy you
[CHORUS OUT]
I take you to dances, and get out on the floor.
We do the twirly twirly, and stomp our feet on the floor.
I swing you all around, till I can’t stand up no more.
And then we go back for more.

Give me some coffee
©copyright Bud Elkin 2016
[chorus]
Give me some coffee. Give me some toast. I’m late to work and on my way.
This gives me the blues, to leave you once more, I'll have you in my thoughts
all day.
[verse]
Here I am with you darling, sleeping in late again.
it's you and me. C'est la vie. Living our life to win.
[chorus]
Give me some coffee. Give me some toast. I’m late to work and on my way.
This gives me the blues, to leave you once more, I'll have you in my thoughts
all day.
[verse]
Wake me up early in the morning..before the sun shines through the door.
We don't need much, we're livin on love. And, nothing to answer for.
[chorus] OUT
Give me some coffee. Give me some toast. I’m late to work and on my way.
This gives me the blues, to leave you once more, I'll have you in my thoughts
all day.
